WetKeys Introduces the First Professional-Grade Hygienic Keyboard with Integrated Touch Pad Priced Under $100
Lower cost industrial keyboard focused on healthcare and manufacturing markets
Atlanta, GA (WetKeys) (4.2)
WetKeys.com, a leading manufacturer and online retailer of spill-proof and washable computer keyboards, recently launched its next generation medical and industrial keyboard at a lower cost with greater durability aimed at the healthcare and manufacturing markets - the KBWKRC87T.
This new keyboard is a fully sealed silicone keyboard with a built-in touchpad designed with the medical field and food processing industry in mind. It allows the healthcare practitioner to regularly wash or sanitize the keyboard between users to reduce the potential for
cross contamination by MRSA and other potentially deadly diseases that result in hundreds of millions of dollars in unnecessary medical costs each year.
"Broader use of medical-grade keyboards such as the new WetKeys KBWKRC87T dramatically reduces the risk of spreading disease on contact surfaces that traditionally have been overlooked by
infection control protocols. The challenge, until now, has been finding low-cost, heavy-duty data entry devices that fit within the IT budgets of larger public and private hospital systems. Pricing our products under $100 is a true innovation that the industry needs now more than ever," explained Paul Lawrence, director of design and marketing for WetKeys.
A built-in
touchpad makes it easier to use and more like a notebook computer eliminating the need for a mouse, which also requires regular sanitizing.
Data entry errors are always a serious concern in medical applications so WetKeys designed the keyboard specifically to benefit those that demand accurate keystroke response and are working with limited space. The keyboard is small enough to fit on a mobile cart yet its keys and touchpad are full-size and comfortable to use, with or without gloves, and eliminates the cost of replacing plastic keyboard covers.
"We constructed this keyboard to be efficient with space, time and materials so that we can pass on those savings to the
Hospital IT budgets reducing the overall cost of health care," explained David Malo, WetKeys' chief operating officer. "But this keyboard is not strictly for the medical industry. Everyone can reap the benefits of a clean keyboard so we are introducing this product at a price of $99.99."
This new keyboard and over 160 other infection control data entry products can be purchased conveniently online at
